About Me
This page shares more about who I am, how I became interested in programming, and what I’m working toward as a developer. You'll find a bit about my background, the technologies I’ve been learning, and some of the interests that shape the kinds of projects I enjoy building.
My Story
I am currently wrapping up an associate's degree in Computer Programming and Application Development at Montana State University Billings - City College. I originally became interested in programming because I enjoyed the process of solving problems. I also found computers and technology cool and having no knowledge at the time I was curious how it all worked.
As I went through the program I found myself enjoying it more and more. While initially it was all kind of overwhelming (sometimes still is) the process of figuring it out and knowing exactly what you need to do to accomplish what you want, is very satisfying.
Right now I'm solely focused on improving my skills as a developer and building projects that help me learn new technologies. I enjoy web development and creating applications that are both functional and look good.
My goals are to continue growing as a developer, create meaningful projects that help me learn, and eventually work as a professional software developer where i can keep learning and improving. I am very excited to work in a professional environment with a team to collaborate with.
Outside of programming, I spend alot of time fishing, running, and exploringthe outdoors, often I get inspiration from this as you will see in my work.

Personal Life
Outside of programming, I really enjoy spending time outdoors. I spend a lot of my time fishing and running, and for many years I was also an avid climber. Being outside is where I recharge and disconnect.
I first realized how much I enjoyed solving problems when I started climbing. Each climb is essentially its own puzzle, where strategy matters just as much as strength. Because of that mindset, I eventually became a climbing instructor, coaching a youth team, teaching adult classes, and working as a routesetter creating problems in the gym. I later began competing myself and won the Last Best Bouldering Series, a season-long competition held across six different gyms in Montana.
After stepping away from climbing, I started fishing and discovered a similar kind of challenge. Fishing is largely about probability and information — the more observations and experiences you have stored away, the better decisions you can make on the water.
That way of thinking is what inspired me to build my fishing log web applications and eventually my SAGA iOS app. For me, the process of solving the problem is the part I enjoy the most — the final solution is just the cherry on top.
